Meet Miles, Digital Evidence Technician

Miles grew up with a keen interest in computers and took GCSE ICT. He spent 3 years studying English at Aberystwyth University, whilst also studying computer science as a hobby, graduating with a 2-1 in English Literature and Creative writing in 2018.

In the same year he started work as a Digital Evidence Technician on a fixed term contract; the following year, Miles made the jump to a full time post, and helped support the growth of his team with an additional 3 full time technicians.

He now spends his time furthering his understanding of computer forensics through both hobbies and training provided by Thames Valley Police, and hopes to continue to do so for years to come.

Sam Digital Forensics InvestigatorIt is only since joining Thames Valley that I have truly understood the significance of Digital Forensics, and there is not a day that goes by where I regret taking the plunge with this career. Not only is it rewarding to be able to give back to society and to help bring justice to those who need it, but it has also been thrilling to see just how far we have come. In only a few short years we’ve made massive strides in our efforts to keep pace with the ever expansive sea that is modern technology, and I look forward to seeing where else our future takes us, and to see how else we’ll improve.
