Fight Back Against Retail Crime Wins National Recognition
We’re proud to announce that the Fight Back Against Retail Crime initiative has been honoured with the Pride of Retail Risk- Community Heroes Award at the prestigious Retail Risk Awards last week.
This award recognises the powerful impact of partnership working across the Thames Valley – bringing together police, Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), local authorities, retailers, and security professionals to take a united stand against retail crime and anti-social behaviour.
Over the past year, we’ve delivered a series of impactful events in towns including Reading and High Wycombe, each attended by more than 100 retailers and stakeholders.
These events showcase practical crime prevention solutions such as DNA sprays, fogging systems, and advanced CCTV, which help strengthen collaboration between local businesses and the police by creating safer spaces for shopworkers and customers alike.
This success wouldn’t have happened without the amazing support, effort, and teamwork from so many people. A big thank you to:
-
Our colleagues at Thames Valley Police
-
Partners in local Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) and business communities
-
Everyone who supported, joined in, or helped make these events happen
Keeping things moving forward…
We’re looking forward to building on this success. We already have plans for more events happening around the country. These events will help us keep working towards our main goal: bringing police, shop owners, local councils, and other partners together to make our towns safer and stronger.
Each event will focus on what local areas need most- whether that’s dealing with theft, helping people in the countryside, or tackling certain types of crime. The idea is to turn shared problems into shared action.
