TVP Launches DO SOMETHING SPECIAL campaign
Over the coming days and weeks you may see our DO SOMETHING SPECIAL campaign slogan and graphics appear in different places.
This is our campaign aiming to attract more people to volunteer their time to be Special Constables with Thames Valley Police.
Head of Community Policing Command, Superintendent John Batty said:
“Specials are an integral part of policing across the Thames Valley. The support and contribution they provide is invaluable, and we hope that this campaign will encourage people to learn more about the role, submit an application, and join the policing family.”
Specials offer essential, valued support to regular officers – wearing the same uniform, carrying the same kit, holding the same powers, and following the same rank structure.
By bringing important life experiences and skills into policing, our force is better able to work with the communities that we protect. Typical duties may involve policing major events, carrying out arrests, foot patrols, tackling antisocial behaviour, and more!
If you’re interested in challenging yourself, protecting your community, and doing something special, take a look at our Special Constables page where you can hear from some of our existing Specials, learn about the application process, and apply today!
