Transport

Thames Valley Police are the lead force who manage Chiltern Transport Consortium CTC, which is a collaboration with Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, the Civil Nuclear Police, British Transport Police, and National Investigation Service and is the largest collaborated police fleet service in the UK and has been in existence for over 20 years.

With a fleet of approximately 3,700 vehicles, we cover an estimated 56 million miles every year.

Alongside supporting events such as the 2012 Olympics and recent royal occasions, CTC plays a vital role in protecting our communities by ensuring all of our vehicles meet the required standards to allow our frontline officers to carry out their duties effectively.

"Whether a vehicle technician, Customer service team member or a workshop manager, the consistent thread running through CTC is providing a quality service to all forces, so they can provide a quality service to the members of the public that we strive to serve and protect."

Who makes up the team?

The team is made up of technicians, administrators, telematics professionals, and more – each with distinct responsibilities in managing vehicle services across all areas covered by our collaborative service agreement – although as a Force, those recruited by Thames Valley Police will be based within the region. If you are looking for a role based at one of our partner forces, please refer to the relevant website.

Who are we looking for?

We’re always on the lookout for qualified vehicle technicians and automotive professionals, but all our team need a can-do attitude, be adaptable to change, and ensure a ‘get it right first time’ approach is applied in all aspects of the work undertaken.
