Information & Communication Technology (ICT)

The Joint Information and Communication (ICT) department serves both Hampshire Constabulary and Thames Valley Police Forces, two of the largest non-metropolitan Police Forces in England and Wales, policing the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, covering a diverse population of nearly four million people.

What does the ICT department do?

Thames Valley Police and Hampshire Constabulary’s Joint ICT department plays a critical role enabling our staff and officers to make the most effective decisions about protecting people and bringing offenders to justice by providing the right information, at the right time, at the right location and in the right way.

We design products and deliver services that help our officers to combat crime, protect the vulnerable and enable safer communities, making a difference that really matters.

UK Policing is in the middle of a significant change journey at the forefront of the public eye, and technology is pivotal to this change.

The scale and the complexity of change to advance policing is huge, leading edge integrated command and control systems, Windows 10 and Microsoft 365, Data Architecture, Service Automation and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions are just some of the in-flight change initiatives in our portfolio, ensuring we provide the very best service to the public and our officers.
