Celebrating Excellence in Policing

This week we held our first Chief’s Long Service and Commendations Ceremony of the year, a brilliant moment to pause, reflect and recognise outstanding contributions across our force.

Colleagues, families and leaders came together to celebrate those marking 20 years of dedicated service, as well as individuals and teams commended for exceptional acts of courage, compassion, professionalism and technical expertise.

The stories shared highlighted the very best of policing:

  • Swift, decisive action in critical incidents
  • Compassionate, victim‑focused responses
  • Heroism both on and off duty
  • Sensitive handling of traumatic scenes
  • Complex investigations delivered with meticulous care
  • Calm, courageous decision‑making under pressure

The words repeated throughout the ceremony said it all: courage, resilience, humanity, professionalism, composure, respect, and technical skill.

These values are lived every day by officers and staff who go above and beyond in service of our communities.

A huge thank you to all those recognised, and to every colleague who continues to embody the highest standards of policing. We are incredibly proud of your commitment and the difference you make.

You represent the very best of Thames Valley Police.
